For Oil, Gas & Pipeline Work

The One-Call Covers Their Lines. Not the Lease's.

Pipeline country runs on a paradox: transmission lines are the best-marked utilities in Texas, while the gathering systems, flowlines, and lease infrastructure around them are among the worst. Crews that treat the 811 response as the whole picture dig into the gap.

The Coverage Gap

Between the wellhead and the transmission line

Texas one-call works well for regulated transmission and distribution. The gap is everything between: gathering systems, flowlines, saltwater lines, and lease service whose operators changed hands five times, whose records live in a filing cabinet in Midland, and whose response to a locate ticket may be nothing at all.

Work in producing regions inherits that gap: road crossings, facility expansions, ROW maintenance, and any excavation on or near legacy lease land.

  • Gathering and flowlines outside reliable one-call response
  • Abandoned lease infrastructure from prior operators
  • Saltwater and disposal lines with fragmented records
  • ROW crossings requiring verified clearance
  • Facility-adjacent ground dense with private services

A dry-erase map in a field office is not a locate.

Crossings, Facilities, and Legacy Ground

Three places this industry needs locating that the one-call cannot provide.

ROW & Crossing Work

Locating and measured test holes where new construction crosses existing lines, to the clearance standard the easement demands.

Facility Sites

Compressor stations, tank batteries, and plant-adjacent ground carry dense private services worth verifying before any dig.

Legacy Lease Land

GPR-led screening for the abandoned infrastructure prior operators left behind, before redevelopment or new construction.

Common Questions

Oil, Gas & Pipeline Questions

Don't pipeline operators locate their own lines?
Operators mark their active regulated lines through one-call. The gap is gathering systems, older flowlines, and abandoned lease infrastructure, where ownership is murky and response is unreliable. That gap is our scope.
Can you verify depth of cover on an existing line?
Yes, that is standard potholing: vacuum excavation exposes the line so depth, diameter, and coating condition are measured facts, typically required before any crossing bore.
Do you find abandoned flowlines?
Often. Steel lines EM-trace when they hold continuity; broken or non-metallic lines fall to GPR, which performs well in much of West and South Texas ground. We flag coverage limits honestly.
Can you support HDD crossings of live lines?
Yes: locate, pothole the crossing, document measured clearance. See our directional boring guide for the full sequence.
Do you mobilize to producing regions?
Statewide project mobilization includes the Permian, Eagle Ford, and Haynesville areas. Send the county and scope.
What documentation do you deliver?
GPS-referenced maps with PDF and KMZ exports, plus test hole records with measured depths, formatted to drop into crossing packages.

Crossing, expanding, or building on lease land?

Send the location and the scope. We will tell you what the one-call will not find there.
