For Pool & Outdoor Builders

The Backyard Is Where 811 Coverage Ends.

Pools, patios, pergolas, and outdoor kitchens all get built past the meter, in exactly the ground the one-call system never marks: irrigation, landscape lighting, gas to the grill, power to the shed, septic laterals, and the pool the last owner removed.

The Backyard Problem

More utility per square foot than most job sites

A typical Texas backyard carries irrigation mains and valves, low-voltage and line-voltage lighting, gas runs to grills and fire features, power to sheds and prior equipment, cable and fiber drops, and on older or rural lots, septic laterals and propane. None of it is marked by 811, and most of it was installed by whoever owned the house at the time.

Pool excavation is the deepest, fastest dig most residential ground ever sees, which makes it the discovery mechanism for everything above.

  • Irrigation mains and wiring across the whole yard
  • Gas runs to grills, fire pits, and pool heaters
  • Septic laterals and tanks on older and rural lots
  • Abandoned pools, spas, and equipment from prior owners
  • Service drops crossing to detached structures

811 marks to the meter. The pool goes in forty feet past it.

Common Questions

Pool & Outdoor Builder Questions

Is a residential locate affordable on a pool budget?
Yes. A yard is a small scope, and pricing reflects that. Against the cost of a cut gas line or a severed service drop on your insurance, it is the cheapest line on the job.
The homeowner called 811. Isn't that enough?
811 is required and it marks operator lines to the meter. The dig zone is past the meter, where irrigation, gas runs, lighting, and septic live unmarked. Both steps are needed; only one is free.
Can you find septic systems and old pools?
Usually. GPR picks up tanks, laterals, and backfilled structures well in most Texas soils, and we flag what we cannot confirm.
How fast can you clear a dig?
Residential locates are quick site visits, and same-day or next-day scheduling is typical. Give us the dig date and we will be there ahead of it.
Do you offer arrangements for builders with volume?
Yes. Standing scheduling for every dig is how most builder relationships run. Call 512-968-5660 to set one up.
What do we get after the locate?
Marks on the ground for the crew, plus a simple site map for the file, so the record survives past dig day.
