Sewer Camera / CCTV

Sewer Camera & CCTV Inspection in Texas

A sewer camera shows what is happening inside the pipe. Locating shows where the pipe actually runs. We do both on the same visit, so you get inspection video, defect notes, and a marked, GPS-mapped line path in one report.

How It Works

What a Sewer Camera Inspection Covers

We run a CCTV camera through the line from a cleanout, manhole, or inlet and record the inside of the pipe as we go. The camera head carries a transmitter, so we can trace it from the surface with an electromagnetic receiver and mark where the line actually runs, not where the records say it should.

  • Inspects sanitary sewer laterals and mains, storm drains, and culverts
  • Records cracks, breaks, offset joints, sags, and root intrusion
  • Finds blockages, debris, and grease buildup and notes their distance from access
  • Traces and marks lateral and main line paths with approximate depth
  • Captures the located path with GPS for PDF maps and KMZ exports

Camera work has limits too. Lines full of water or debris, collapsed sections, and tight bends can stop a camera or hide part of the pipe, and depth readings from the transmitter are approximate. We note anything we could not see in the report, and recommend potholing where exact depth matters.

Where We Use Sewer Cameras

Sewer Camera Inspection Applications

Camera work earns its place any time you need to know what is inside a pipe and where that pipe actually runs.

Pre-Construction Sewer Checks

Confirm the condition and path of existing laterals and mains before tie-ins, renovations, or site work.

Storm Drain & Culvert Inspection

Inspect storm lines and culverts for breaks, sediment, and blockages ahead of drainage or roadway work.

Sewer Line Locating

Trace the camera from the surface to mark lateral and main paths that are missing or wrong on the records.

Breaks, Offsets & Root Intrusion

Document defects with video and distance from access so the repair crew knows where to dig.

Pre-Bore & Trench Clearance

Pair camera work with EM and GPR locating to clear sewer crossings before boring or trenching.

Our Process

How a Sewer Camera Inspection Runs

Four steps, from checking access to a delivered report.

1

Scope & Access Review

We review the address, the lines you need inspected, and available cleanouts, manholes, or inlets before we mobilize.

2

Camera Inspection

We run the CCTV camera through the line, recording footage and noting defects with distance from the access point.

3

Locate & Mark the Path

We trace the camera transmitter from the surface, mark the line path in the field, and collect GPS points.

4

Report & Deliverables

You get the inspection video, a written defect summary, and a PDF utility map with KMZ export when locating is included.

Questions

Sewer Camera Inspection FAQ

What does a sewer camera inspection show?
A CCTV camera run through the line records the inside of the pipe: cracks, breaks, offset joints, sags, root intrusion, grease or debris buildup, and blockages. You get the footage and our notes on what we observed and where.
Can you locate where the sewer line runs?
Yes. The camera head carries a transmitter that we trace from the surface with an electromagnetic receiver to mark the lateral or main path and its approximate depth, then capture the path with GPS.
What kinds of lines do you inspect?
Sanitary sewer laterals and mains, storm drains, and culverts, depending on pipe size, material, and access.
What access do you need?
An open cleanout, manhole, inlet, or other access point to the line. If access is limited or buried, we will flag it during scoping before we mobilize.
What deliverables do I get?
Inspection video, a written summary of observed defects with distance from the access point, and, when locating is included, field markings plus a PDF utility map and KMZ export.
Can you combine camera work with utility locating?
Yes. Pairing the camera with EM and GPR locating and GPS mapping lets us document the sewer and storm lines alongside the rest of the utilities on site in one report.
How fast can you schedule a sewer camera inspection?
Send the address and scope and we typically mobilize same day or next day across our Texas service areas.
